Michael
Going, Los Angeles based photographic artist, has long been
internationally recognized as the leading innovator of altered
Polaroid SX-70 photography. Cited as the "Master of the
Manipulated Polaroid" (Photo District News), Going was
first celebrated for ground breaking editorial essays for Sports
Illustrated, Time and many other leading national publications
as well as advertising campaigns for Hyatt resorts and other
prominent companies. His unique vision has been profiled in
leading publications such as Communication Arts, American Photographer
and numerous others. Since 1978 he has created a vast body of
work including essays on Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Hawaii
and numerous other subjects and explorations. Mr. Going's work
is in museums such as Maison Europeene de la Photographie in
Paris, corporate collections such as the Polaroid Corporation
and Frito-Lay as well as numerous private collections. Going
has taught at schools such as Art Center College of Design and
the Academy of Art University. He is currently teaching at Barnsdall
Art Center in Hollywood. Michael most recent series is of Los
Angeles (Downtown & Hollywood) Signed
limited edition prints of his work are available. Images are
available for stock licensing. In 2006 Polaroid Corp stopped
making the film that made this style possible ending an era.
